Hey there, fellow car enthusiasts! 🚗💨 Check this out! The Ministry of Sport, Arts and Culture just dropped some super exciting news. The Bid Steering Committee (BSC) is looking for folks interested in helping South Africa zoom onto the F1 Grand Prix scene in the 2026/27 season and beyond. 🚦🥳
Minister Gayton McKenzie got the tire rolling back in December 2024 by assembling the BSC—a squad of volunteer experts from all the important sectors. Their mission? To steer and manage our F1 bid and show the world that South Africa’s got what it takes to host this iconic motorsport event! 🌍🏁
The Request for Expression of Interest (RFEOI) is now live, spelling out the nitty-gritty details and what’s expected from any parties wanting to jump in. This way, we’re keeping things fair, competitive, and totally on par with the global F1 standards. Transparency for the win! 😉
You can totally download the RFEOI and start revving those engines of interest on the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture’s website under the “What’s New” section. Here’s the link to get you to the starting line: [RFEOI Formula Bid]
