Knysna greeted me with rain.
Not a drizzle—the kind of soft grey that kisses your windows and forces you to slow down and actually feel your day. After yesterday’s long-haul charge from Polokwane, it was only fair that the Mustang needed some TLC. Let’s be honest, so did I.
Today was all about maintenance—for machine and woman.
The Mustang Gets Her Spa Day
By midday, we had:
Refilled her aircon gas (because style means nothing if you’re sweating in your seat),
Swapped out her battery (because apparently pouring acid is frowned upon),
Ran a full diagnostic—because even Mustangs need emotional check-ins.
Verdict?
She’s fine. A little dramatic. Probably learned it from me.
A Moment for Me
After the car was happy, I needed to remind myself I still exist beyond schedules and roadmaps.
Coffee in Wilderness with a dear friend gave me exactly that—grounding, laughter, and the kind of conversation that makes the rain feel poetic instead of annoying.
Then came my true indulgence:
A proper hair wash and blow-dry at Frankie’s Hair Salon in Knysna.
Ladies with extensions, listen up—this spot is a hidden gem.
Their hands are magic, their service is genuine, and I left with hair that practically floated out the door like a shampoo commercial.
The Simola Tease
I couldn’t resist.
I drove the Simola Hillclimb track in track mode—just a taste.
The corners felt electric, the road wet but willing.
And as the Mustang roared through each bend, I could feel it… this place is alive with speed.
Ending in Style
Dinner was sushi and champagne at Tapas & Oysters, Knysna.
And it felt perfect.
Not loud. Not flashy. Just the quiet confidence of a woman sitting across from herself, raising a glass to another day conquered.
Tomorrow is for crowds, media, and the beginning of the festival energy.
But today?
Today was for recalibrating—engine, body, and soul.
